Subject: [SYGC] Congratulations to the F cup players and the club, we have won again

Twenty SYGC f cup players and 4 members/cheerleaders had come
to Eagle Ridge today. Our very carefree (not careless) team
won by 16.5 to 13.5 this year.
As a tradition, we will ask every team to write an email
to report what they have experienced. I will send my report later
but I really need to get a shower now.
Our red hot ladies wore red battle shirts to the game and
won by 4.5 to 1.5, which is exactly the margin of our win.
Congratulation to the ladies who peformed so well this year.
As the host of this tournament and exec secretary of the club,
I would like to thank Danny who lead us to victory,
I would also like to thank all players and all cheerleaders
who participated this very exciting game.
Lastly, I sincerely hope more rookies will play next year.
Every year, we have a few rookies who played well.
This year is no exception.
Tao won his single.
Phil helped George to win their best ball match.
Wonda and Jennifer Yu won their best ball match.
Brian/Carol are not rookies but I think they won more than last time.
Hope I did not miss anyone.

Subject: [SYGC] SYGC tournament @ The Bridges- results
Dear members,
Thanks for the participation. We had a great time
yesterday at The Bridges. It's a tough course designed
by Johnny Miller, and the best we can do is to keep
the ball in play and hopefully not run out of balls.
After the round, we all got together for a survivor's
reunion and celebrated for the winners.
Some highlights:
-- we have quite a few guests showed up, Yi Ma, Alan
Chen, John Busch, and Bob Shei; old member but he
claimed as new is Chester Wang. Hope to see them play
more often,
-- Some players checked each other about the number of
lost balls(5 Pro V1 for me), we did play from white
tee this time. Bravery!
-- Before announcing the winners, Yu announced he shot
an impressive 39 at the front nine... but we all know
what's followed, end of story.
Winners:
-- gross#1 : Mingwei Jiang (85)
-- net#1: Jennifer Yu(104, +1)
-- net#2: Jennifer Tan(92, +2)
-- net#2: Conrad Chen(89, +2)
-- near pin:
Danny Tsen, Alex Hsu(the long par 3, 194 yards),
Mingwei Jiang, Jennifer Tan(it's close, 6'8").
-- long drive:
Yu Chang(some requested you do the blood test, but
some said club COR is good enough, either way, it's
loooong)
Jennifer Tan.
See you all in July tournament!

Poppy Hills Tournament Results -8/28/2005

Dear SYGC Members,

It was so excited to see 26 club members plus 2 MVGC guests playing in Poppy Hills tournament on last Sunday. The weather was very nice, sunny and almost no wind. Green is a little bit tricky during the day, sometimes fast but sometimes slow. Overall, the course is probably in the best condition. I guess every player must enjoy the game and had great time.

Here is summery of tournament results:

-          Gross Low is very competitive this time. There are one player hitting 85 (Wen) and three players hitting 86 (Mingwek, Danny & Yu). But finally Conrad claimed the title with an impressive 84 (net -3) in this tournament.

-          Wen is the one who played 85. Net -5 gives him Diamond Tier (low index group) Net #1 title. Yu and Eric both shot net 0 with gross 86 and 88 to win Net #2 and #3.

-          Gold Tier (high index group) is also very competitive. Kuan shot net -5 (gross 102) finally to win Net #1 title. Edward is only in one shot difference (net -4, gross 109) to win Net #2. Even though J.C, Hao-Ping and Ying all shot net -1, Net #3 title goes to Tony with his gross low 94 (net -1).

-          Yu hit longest drive in men's group. Jeff, J.C., Jerry, Frank and Yu won closest to pin.

-          Congratulation to all of the winners!

We also welcome two new members, Peng Cheng & Benny Xiong, join this tournament. Benny doesn't have index yet, but hit 88 in first time of our tournament. Jerry Shen brings a good news to our club! There would be a chance for us to play at a private course, Moffett Field, if you sign up to him. It's really appreciated for him to provide this good opportunity!

Poppy Ridge Tournament Results -10/9/2005

Dear members,

It was such a beautiful day!!!!  Not too windy, not too hot.  The course is in very good condition.  We were very lucky Poppy Ridge didn’t do the fall aeration this year which most golf courses are doing it at this time of the year.  I haven’t play at this course for quite some time now.  And I am very impressed the way they maintain the course.  I hope everyone had enjoyed the day as much as I did.

Subject: [SYGC] 2006 Annual tournament results

If you did not play this year's annual tournament,
you have missed a lot of fun.
The field was big.
	- 44 players, largest ever since the club started.
The weather was perfect.
	- sunny all day. a little wind to make it interesting.
The buffet was awesome.
The prizes are abundant, 19 of them.
The trophies are beautiful.
	- The low gross claret jug trophy is classy.
	- the low net crystal trophies are "heavy".
The logo design is elegant.
	- Hao-ping's sweetheart did a superb job.
The golf course was tough but fair.
	- someone 6 putted.
	- but at least 2 shot their personal best.
The competetion was severe.
	- Low Gros is 6 shots better
	- Low net winners are -8 and -4
Thanks to Ivan for sponsoring the prizes/trophies.
Thanks to all the staff who helped diretly and indirectly.
But mostly, thanks to all those who participated to makes
this such a successful event and a great year.
Well, hope we see everyone next year and make it even better.
Men's Long drive
	4th hole	Steve Hsia
	12th hole	Steve Hsia
* I joked in the awarding ceremony that we should cancel
Long drive prizes next year since Steve has rejoined
after missing in action for 1 year.
Both of his drives are 300+ yards and 20-30 yard ahead
the nearest competition.
Ladie's long drive
	6th hole	Jennifer/Wanda
	13th hole	Carol Lin
* I really want find out where these ladies find all
the power. On 6th hole, both Jennier and Wanda hit through
the fairway 225 yards out. Ivy may have hit it for
230-240 yard. My drives were not shabby, but both holes,
mine was about 20 yards behind the ladie's long drive.
Near pin
	2nd hole	Peng Cheng	17'8"
			Carol Lin	23'9"
	5th hole	Carol Lin	2'3"
			Kuan Khor	2'10"
	7nd hole	Benny Xiong	3'9"
			Conrad Chen	7'5"
	14th hole	Kuan Khor	5'6"
			Haoping Wen	12'6"
* Does anyone know why Carol had 2 near pin, 1 long drive
but shot a net 83?
The answer is her index is lowwwww.
She is the most improved player for 3 years in a row,
going from about 25 in 2002 to 13 in 2005.
Second Flight
Low net 1st	Chester Wang	64
Low net 2nd	Ivy Ho 67
Low net 3rd	Ivan Ho 71
* Our president kept last year's tradition in taking
trophies home. This year, he had help from Ivy.
The whole room laughed out loud when we heard Ivy said
"my trophy is taller than yours!" ;-)
Chester had been playing well, he shot 94 in summer
in the Chinese Olweiympic for our club. Unfortunately,
those low index players did not play well and
we did not win a trophy this year.
Chester will be a great player for Captain Ouyang.
First Flight
Low net 1st	Peng Cheng	68
Low net 2nd	Tao Chow	74
Low net 3rd	Eric Ouyang	74
* Our 2006 F cup captain Ouyang did well, took home 3rd place.
He actually tied with Tao Chow but lost on tie-breaker by index.
Tao won by steady play, the amazing part is this is his first
time playing coyote creek (who said you need course knowledge)
and he just came back from a golfing trip to New Zealand,
8 rounds in 15 days. Hmm, maybe jetlag would help golf game?
Peng is a new face to many members since he just joined
this year and played 3 tournaments only. But he certainly
has the game and will be a great player for Captain Ouyang too.
Some worthy mentions...
Wen hit maximum allowed cap on at least 2 holes.
JC 6 putted once and Mingwei 3 putted from 2 feet.
I had triple and quad bogey on the first 2 holes.
Wait, you mean, I should talk about good performances,
not embarassments like these... Sorry!
Many of our guest did very well.
Tony Huang shot net 73 and Renxin Xia shot net 72.
Both of them would have won a trophy if they were members.
Hope they joing soon and strenthen out f cup team in May 2006.
Steve did not join in 2005 and did not have NCGA index.
For all players with a current index, they played with 10.0.
Steve's real index is about 14 and would have won 2nd low net
if he had a current index.
Kuan Khor had 2 good tee shots and 2 good putts.
Those 4 are all he needed to win 2 near pin and 2 birdies.
Who cares about the other 100 shots. ;-)
Ha, to those who thought I was going to forget it.
I saved the best for the last on purpose.
Low Gross
Mingwei	Jiang	with an amazing socre of 80.
* We knew the low gross will most likely be won by either
Mingwei or Danny unless something very unexpected happened.
A few other players like Eric, Tao, Conrad, Brain
had a slim chance only if both of them did not play well.
One week before the tournament, I caught Mingwei playing
Coyote (stealing practice if you know what I mean) and
he shot 80 on that day too! This is the third of 4th
low gross he had won from SYGC tournaments this year.
Next year, we will steal his putter right before the game
to give others a fair chance.
Good Job, Mingwei for playing such a great round.
And congratulations to everyone who brought something home.
For those who liked my writing. (Yeah, right!)
This will be the last email I write for tournament results.
I will report the balance and 2006 renewal status in 1 month.
Then I will retire from the staff due to my work in China.
I am really glad to have the chance to serve the club and
worked with the wonderful staff members.
Everyone should volunteer and serve the club at some time,
you will find it a very fulfilling experiences.
