Net #1 Yu Chang -4 Well, the last time I broke 90 was 9 months ago.

Low Gross Jerry Tso 82 Good play!

--------------------------------------

We also had many matches finished.

Before I go on, I would like to explain how I decided
each match. There were several requests from members
to play with other members in the same group.
Based on that, I match them together for first round.

From now on, I will decide the matches based on the following:
- match players based on index ranking.
- match players who sign up for monthly tournaments first.
- match players who had played against each other.
- match the toughest player against Wen.

Wen defeated Tiffany 4&3
Yenyu defeated Andy 2&1
Brian defeated Ivan 4&3 (Ivan was last match tournament champion)
Carol defeated Ivy 1 up (close match)
George defeated Frank 3&2 (Frank needed more beer)
Tony defeated Qing Lu 1up (another close match)
Danny defeated Eric Hu 2&1 (Danny had to give 14 strokes)
Yu defeated Conrad 3&2 (yu had to fight back from 3 down)
Shirley defeated John 2&1 (the match had been close till 16th)
Jerry Tso defeated Benny overwhelmingly :-)

Congratulations to those who advanced.
Those who did not win still has a chance in the challenger group.

Dear SYGC members,

Thanks to all of the SYGC participants of F-Cup, we won (12.5 v.s. 8.5)!! It was a great team work. You, yes, each of you, contributes your effort and that makes it happen again this year.

It was a pleasant experience for me to pair with Lucas. We drove the balls to the fairway, approach to the green in regulation (trying to) and that gave our opponents lots of pressures I believe. My partner needs to face the best player in MVGC. He is calm and still maintains the best performance than he usually does. Believe me, if you see how far his opponent (Patrick Mong)drove the ball, you will know how much pressure put on him.

Again, Your dedication and participation make us win the F-Cup. Mission completed. Job well done. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Brian

23 players enjoyed a great golfing weather yesterday in Poppy Hills.
One player dropped out in the last minute due to a medical condition.
We wish him the best. In addition to the fine golf, we have also saw

about the rest of players, but at least my heart was pumping when I
saw those racy shapes.

Bayonet Golf Course -11/17/2007

From: Eric Ouyang
Date: Mon Nov 19 19:00:18 2007
Subject: SYGC Annual Tournament Report
Dear members,

We had a great time last weekend with an unexpected good weather in mid-November. The new Bayonet course is in good shape, long with narrow guarded fairway, small and tricky greens, once the wind picked up from the ocean, we're totally in the defensive mode.

I would say the box lunch is good and served on time, the post round gathering was fun and we consumed quite some beers... overall, it's a gorgeous day in Monterey and hopefully everyone enjoyed it!

First, I'd like to thank all the members participating to support SYGC, and the members who renewed the 2008 membership.

Second, I'd like to thank the sponsorship from George, Ivan and Ivy; it is not only about winning, we had good food, nice trophies, a lot of raffle prizes and a lot of cheers and joy!

Third, applaud to the 2007 staff; there are always emails floating around in the late night, about how to attract more members, how to find a good deal, where to play next etc. It's all to make SYGC better. They are: Carol, Brian, Wen, Tony and Eric Hu.

Time to announce the winners:

*** 2007 Single Match Championship ***
Men's Champion: Ivan Ho
Runner-up: Brian Chang
Ladies' Champion: Ivy Ho
Runner-up: Carol Lin

// The above 4 players actually are the ones with the best handicap improvement this year in SYGC. It's all about hard working(on the game) and commitment to perfection through the whole year. Congratulations!!

*** 2007 Annual Tournament ***
Gross Champion: Eric Ouyang (86)
Flight 1
Net Champion: Ivan Ho (net 76)
Net 2nd: Danny Tsen (net 78)
Net 3rd: Wen Lee (net 79)

Flight 2
Net Champion: Ling-Lee (net 77)
Net 2nd: George Cheng (net 78)
Net 3rd: Tony Su (net 79)
// the scoring is consistent between 2 flights and similar scoring like US OPEN@Winged Foot //

Long Drive: Brian Chang(this one is loooong again) and Carol Lin.
// what a long couple! We need to find out who's ultimate longer.//

Near Pin: HaoPing, HaoPing, Tammy and Lucas.
// HaoPing is incredible with 2 wins and Lucas 3-putt within short range//

Best Sportmanship:
Flight 1: Carl Liu(he has good quality shots, guess my speeding play is annoying :))
Flight 2: Kuan Khor(he won two good prizes this time)

Raffle Prizes: too many winners, I got a very good spring tea. The best prize Scotty Cameron Putter was drawn to George first but he donated back to the pool and Kuan Khor is the final winner!!

Last: special thanks to Tony/John Huang setup tables and all the prizes for the ceremony, Wen to collect all the payment and Carol does all the accounting and final scoring as usual.
Please let me know if you can spend some time as SYGC staff, yes, we're recruiting!!

Again, thanks all and have good holidays!
Eric & SYGC staff
