Subject: SYGC April Tournament
Dear members,
It's great to see our April tournament ended smoothly with new friend, and a
couple of old members
coming back to play. Thanks Eric Ouyang and Wen Lee for their direction that
gave me a big relief for hosting it.
George, Eric Hu, and YenYu also helped me on the field.
There are some things to talk about this tournament:
1. We have 3 eagles at least.(Can somebody point them out, we need beer, beer,
beer)
2. All the winners except MingWei have minus net score. It's awesome.
3. I do apologize there's no trophy and prize is distributed to them because of
short gentlemen distance.
In the beginning, we thought last year's horrible scores for most players.
Then we thought about the
marshal may keep pushing us to screw up the matching automosphere. Then we
thogut Jennifer has
1000 yard advantage over YenYu. So this Sunday........ I heard Lucas saying
are we are playing silver?
And finally, Jennifer still beated YenYu. :-) Hmm... I recomment we don't
shorten man distance next tour.
4. Can someone help me to remember who wins the last near pin. Did Lucas make 2?
5. Sophie has showed intention to rejoin the group, can someone help her?
Here the final results of our tournament.
Champs:
Gross: MingWei(79)
Flight I: Wen Lee(-8)
Flight II: Chiteh Chiang(-9)
2nd
Flight I: Ivan Ho(-6), Jennifer will hand $15 to Ivan
Flight II: Sean Lu(-5)
3rd
Flight I: Brian Chang(-1): I will pay $10 for Brian's next tour.
Flight II: Frank Hsu(-2)
Long Drive:
Man: Lucas Tsai
Woman: Next tournament
Near Pin:
1. Lucas Tsai
2. MingWei
3. Chiteh
4.
A lot of appreciation for your participance that makes this tour happen.

Subject: F-cup result
Dear Members;
The 2008 Friendship Cup tournament?between SYGC and MVGC has?played today at Callippe Preserve, the result is SYGC 8 points and MVGC 11 points, SYGC short of 1.5 points to retain the cup.
I want to thank all of the F-cup players to support this year's event, even we did not retain the cup this year, but within such short notice and unfamiliar to the course, I am very impressed with the performance of this team, and I am proud?to be the captain for this year.? I am asking everyone who read this mail, please give your applause to these players?for their performance.
I see?many supports and enthusiasm from some new F-cup players?and when Carol showed up at the end of the tournament to show her support, I am so proud that I am one of the member of SYGC.? The bond between our members is the best asset for our club and it shows at this year's F-cup.? Even MVGC win this year, but they still need to win 3 cups in the role to tie our record, but with such strong bond and friendship within our club, I don't see that will happen soon.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all,?especially Frank Fuh as my assistant captain and Eric Ouyang for the coordination on?all the practice matters, Nice to see Benny and Jerry come out play in the team as well as many new F-cup players.? I?will cherish this unforgettable captain experience, and sure will tell my grandchildren?about this?in the future.? So for this year's F-cup players, if you haven't given me your autographed ball, please pull one out of the box and bring your autographed ball to me at June monthly tournament.
At the end, let's congratulates MVGC?on winning?the cup this year and once again, applaud to our very own 2008 SYGC F-cup team for the job well done.?
Happy golfing,
Wen

Dear all,
We had a challenging day this afternoon in Crystal Springs. The
undulation is severe; the wind is blowing; the fairway is often times
narrow and the green speed is hard to read at times. Still some people
managed to shoot good scores. Here are the award winners:
Gross Champion:
Danny Tsen 88
(so we know the condition is challenging...)
Net Champions:
Diamond Flight
1. Tammy Lee 76
2. Eric Ouyang 77
3. Hao-Ping Wen 80
(None of the diamond flight champs shot their handicap. But wait till
you see the gold flight...)
Gold Flight:
1. Connie Wen 66 (her gross score may beat Hao-Ping pretty soon)
2. Albert Liu 68
3. Sean Lu 75
(Albert just started playing last year. Yet he made a birdie at 18th
hole. Congratulations!!)
Closest to pin:
#3 Danny
#8 Chiteh
#11 Jonathan
#13 Yu Chang
Long Drive:
Men: Yu Chang (outdrove Eric Ouyang by 1 foot)
Women: Tammy (no surprise?!)
For those who have not claimed the trophy, please be sure to sign up
the next tournament so that we can hand it to you!
Cheers,
Eric

Dear members,
After a cooler weather in Santa Cruz, everybody looks happy and kind of
disappointed for some holes.
It's a beautiful course after remodeling. For those who miss this time. try it
next time.. It's beautiful, and the most
important, it's cooler in hot weather..
We have to congratulate the following winners:
Gross Championship: Eric Ouyang: one step closer to single digit index.
First Flight Champion: Yu Chang. He rejoined us right on time to claim his
prizes.
Silver: Lucas. Unlike most of us, he played better in back--9
than front-9.
Bronze: Tammy. She is awesome. Extra plaxtic is needed for
her prizes...
2nd Flight Champion: Connie Wen. Nobody has a better coach than she does. She
got back-2-back champion. Don't forget the man behind her.
Silver: Tony Su. Jet lag isn't a problem for an airman...
Bronze: Although he missed the carpool, he doesn't miss his
course management.
Long Drive: Yu Chang.. TaylorMade Burner TP does burn the balls.
Tammy. we are looking forward the competition between Carol and
Tammy..
Near Ping: Yu Chang, ChiTeh(2), Frank.
It's a great experience to see everybody enjoy 8/24/2008. Hope to see you again
on 9/28/2008 San Juan Oaks..

Subject: Sept. Tournament Results
Dear Members!
As forcast, the weather is cool and comfortable for our Sept tournament event.
Although the wind is picking up later in the late afternoon, some members still manage to obtain
good scores and stroy-telling shots, like the almost-ever closest to Pin at Hole 16 by Wen.
As quoted and pic taken from Wally
"Official stats are 3.75 inches from hole by a 'knock down' 50th degree wedge for 113 yards, ball landed about 5 feet behind the pin and rolls backward toward the hole. " - as quoted by a couple of innocent bystanders :-) (clubs layed around is for relative reference of how close the ball to the hole was)
The following is the summary of the results
Gross champion: Wen Lee 83 (-6) although Eric Ouyangalso has 83(-1) for the gross.
Flight I net
1st : Eric Ouyang 83 (-1)
2nd: Tammy Lee 86 (+1)
3rd: 86 (+5)
Flight II net
1st: Conrad Chen 92 (-1)
2nd: Frank Hsu 94 (0), index = 18.7
3rd: Sean Lu 95 (0), index = 19.9
Men's Long drive: Hao-Ping Wen
Ladies' Long drive: NA, trophy and prize will be safe for next tournament
Hole #6 CP: Albert Liu (13'9.5")
Hole #8 CP: Tony Su (27'6")

Annual Tournament - Poppy Ridge Tournament Results -10/18/2008
From: Eric Ouyang
Date: Mon Dec 22, 2008 12:26 pm
Subject: Season Finale
Greetings! SYGC members,
We finally finished the annual tournament under sun, rain and wind yesterday,
with joys, tears and rain drops in our eyes! This shows the great spirit of the
SYGC, no wonder SYGC members can always crack any obstacles to achieve success!
I'd like to thank everyone managed to arrange their travel/vacation/holiday
schedule in order to join the game, especially with uncertain weather
conditions.
As the season finale, the annual granted 20+ trophies for both annual tournament
and match championship. I can not thank enough for the generous sponsorship from
Ivan/Ivy and Wen, this not only encourages the participation, also improves the
golf game of the players I believe.
As a result of the term, this will be my last update as the executive secretary,
I'd like to thank the staff one more time during my 2 years; actually many staff
work longer than 3,4 years for SYGC:
// Carol/Brian: treasury, NCGA chair, Carol took 2 most difficult positions, she
works for "every" tournament behind the scene handling finance and NCGA related
work.
// Wen: F-cup captain and match host, match players all received his weekly
status no matter where he's located, this is almost a part time job, not to
mention his sponsoring of the grand prizes.
// Tony: he's been tournament host for many years, although with busy traveling,
he still managed to host couple tournaments per year.
// John, Eric Hu and Chiteh: except Chitech, all 2nd year staff, all hosted the
monthly tournaments consistently, worked very hard on the great deals for the
benefit of the members. Again, I can not express my thankfullness enough.
The last, Yu Chang will be the next president, and John Huang will be the next
executive secretary. (John has a initial concern that he's not a "good" golfer,
as we know, not only staff always become better golfers, the E.S. guy always
cuts in half:) ) They both have great credibility as the SYGC volunteers in the
past, let's all support them and SYGC!
OK, if you still interested, the annual tournament results: (the match results
will be posted by tournament host Wen)
1. thanks to the staff in the field yesterday, a lot of extra work for the
special event, special thanks to Tony for helping every one on the meal order,
and Conrad for unwrapping 3 big carton boxes of trophies. And many
photographers: Scott, Ivan ...
2. winners:
Gross: Eric Ouyang (74), well all I can say lucky!
// Flight1:
net 1: Wen Lee(85, -2)
net 2: Yu Chang (88, -1)
net 3: Conrad Chen (91, -1)

// Flight2:
net 1: Chiteh Chiang (94, -5)
net 2: Albert Liu (107,0)
net 3: Tracy Lee (95, +3)
net last: Scott Jeng (131, +18) - Again he checked couple times if there's a
prize, yes: verbal encouragement!
// closest to the pin:
Jennifer Kao (#3, 23')
Yu Chang (#7, 11')
Carol Lin (#11, 98") - the most inspiring, Carol's back!
Brian Chang (#16,2'6")- don't leave it short by 2 feet, just get an hole-in-one!
// long drive:
Yu Chang (heard it passed the guys like me at least 30 yards)
Jennifer Kao (saw it right in the middle of fairway)
The last to the last, wish you and family have great holidays and a bright new
year!
- Eric O.
